How did I start body massage services in Kolkata in three months?

I am a blogger and once I got a chance to talk with the owner of the most popular massage centers of Kolkata. She is a true personality, speaks from her heart and helps others find the courage they lost in their entrepreneurial journey.

About five years ago, she showed up at a strategies incubator seminar stressed, burnt out, and on the edge of losing everything. The next salon she opened turned into a disaster, things got ugly, and she was left with the pile of debt, unpaid roll taxes, landlords, and angry creditors.

She learned the skills and disciplines of Salon and Spa leadership, Financial and cash-flow management, how to inspire and drive team productivity, and how to get rid of the commission pay that was drawing the financial life out of her company. So, it became a long hard for her to climb out of such a hellish and seemingly hopeless mess. But she didn’t lose her hope and started coaching with strategies.

She never gave up and started providing body massage services in Kolkata. She followed the strategies, implemented new systems, and mastered living her cash flow plan and converted to team-based pay at the beginning of her climb.

I haven’t posted in a while and I wanted to send out a big bunch of love and encouragement to those of you who may be struggling and thinking about giving up. Once we were told to close, go home, and file bankruptcy but I couldn’t.

Thus, her aim became greater than her pain but she was suffering from a complete nervous breakdown in 2013, was hospitalized and put on 30 days of bed rest. While in the hospital, she organized the linen closet and did a Dewey Decimal System to organize the hospital library and she was not cray but she was tired. Tired of those debt, misery, and she needed someone’s help.

And guess what? Help came in the form of a seminar on body massage services in Kolkata. That was the truth that sets her free. At first, it made her miserable because she realized how deep of a hole, she was in. And then they were eight years later with up to three weeks paid vacation, six weeks maternity leave, IRA with company match, and a very strong and healthy team-based company. 

Now, the story begins. She has had a young man from Cambodia in her salon for three months. At the age of sixteen, he was led into prostitution because he had no education to support himself. After the completion of his school, his dream was to provide body massage services in Kolkata and open a salon in Cambodia and now he fights human trafficking and wants to provide an opportunity to those being rescued. 

Because they were running a strong business and well respected in their community and state, the Indian government has accepted their letter of support and allowed him to come to India on a temporary visa to learn Indian Business Culture in a salon. Now in Cambodia, this young man will have his first interview to enroll in beauty school.
